Share The Journey Campaign
A pleasant day to you all. Wish to bring to your attention that the Pope has declared 27 September 2017 as the launch day for Share The Journey Campaign. This is a campaign to increase awareness on the effects of Migration to both known and unknown boundaries in search of be it greener pastures. The Holy Father notes with deep concern that most people fall victim to the lure of opportunities such as jobs, university scholarships and many such other only to fall into the hands of human traffickers and organ harvesters. He encourages us young people to be aware of these dangers and do intensive research on these opportunities that lay all over the internet. Also what i will urge is that we be worry of even possible cases in our own motherland and nearby neighboring countries.
Locally, Caritas has proposed to work in collaboration with the C.Y.A.A, C.Y.A and M.C.A to launch a similar campaign on the 14th of October 2017 with a match from the City Hall to the Basilica to conscientise the Bulawayo Community about Migration and its effects.
As the Young People in the Archdiocese of Bulawayo we saw this as an opportunity to add our voice in the call to stop human trafficking and organ harvesting by taking the lead to speak about the good and bad of Migration. Social Media and print is awash about cases of Young People loosing their lives in a quest to search for better life sustaining opportunities.
Our primary role in this campaign is to prepare and plan for the success of this day. We look forward to have ambassadors of this campaign coming from you the C.Y.A.A. These ambassadors will be conscientised on discussion issues that they will take to parishes across our diocese in preparation of the 14th of October 2017. If all goes according to plan the propositions that we sent to Caritas include;
. airing in Skyz Metro to talk about Share The Journey Campaign
. interviews or share of experiences of victims of Migration
. production of IEC material
We agreed to this initiative because we shared a common understanding labanawethu that since its the Year of the Family lets show the love and care of one another in our Bulawayo community by informing and getting informed by others. Alluta continua St James Legions. Keep Your Trust in God AWAYS. Jesus we Trust in You!
